The Polish player's match was suddenly interrupted. Disturbing news straight from the court.

In the third round of the tournament in the USA, the Polish player faced a truly formidable challenge. Currently ranked number 40, Magda Linette faced the hosts' representative, Jessica Pegula. The American is a world-class player, currently competing directly with Iga Świątek , ranked fourth in the WTA rankings.
WTA 1000 Cincinnati: Magda Linette's match interrupted. Big problems! The Polish tennis player started the match strongly, winning the tiebreak and opening her clash with Pegula with a mini-sensation. The American is a specialist on hardcourts, but Linette showed – not for the first time – that if she's having a good day and believes in her tennis, she can compete with any opponent in the world.
After a set that lasted exactly one hour (the Pole won the tiebreak 7-5), Pegula prevailed in the second set. The American won 6-3, breaking her opponent's serve twice. Linette managed to do this only once. It was difficult to predict how the third-round match in Cincinnati would ultimately unfold. A heavy downpour ensued, forcing the competition to a halt. The US court is not covered, so the organizers are dependent on weather conditions.
Unfortunately, these conditions aren't conducive to tennis, at least in the last few hours. The Linette vs. Pegula match has been rescheduled for Wednesday (August 13th). The preliminary plan is to finish the match—that is, play the third set—at 6:00 PM Polish time. This will be the second match of the day, following Frances Tiafoe vs. Holger Rune. It's reasonable to suspect that the two men may play longer than an hour, so the 6:00 PM time might shift slightly from the original schedule.
Interestingly, Iga Świątek is also scheduled to appear on the court on Wednesday. The Pole will play her fourth-round match against Romanian Sorana Ciristea. Both women will appear on the Grandstand court in Cincinnati at 5:00 PM CEST.
