Table Tennis. Polish Cadet Championships in Białystok

The Polish Cadet Championships were held in Białystok, with the best young table tennis players from all over the country taking part.

Our province was represented by: Judyta Chodyniecka and Wiktoria Kaliciak (both Zalew Stepnica), Hanna Gastół (Czarni Pieszcz), Szymon Koper and Stanisław Cydzik (both SALOS Szczecin), Kryspin Szymanowski (Iskra Łasko) and Maciej Pieniążek (Czarni Pieszcz).

The cadet team coached by Karol Kania put in a very good performance. The pair Chodyniecka/Kaliciak won their group, beating TG Sokół Gniewkowo 3-0 and the favored team AZS Politechnika Rzeszów 3-0. In the quarterfinals, our cadets lost 0-3 to AZS Wrocław and were ultimately classified in 5th-8th place. For Zalew Stepnica, this is a great achievement and the best team result in the club's history.

The 173rd FETS tournament and the fourth for the Szczecin championship took place in Fabryka Energii, under the honorary patronage of the mayor of Szczecin, Piotr Krzystek. 27 players took part in the tournament, and the competition took place in three groups: A, B and C.

The tournament was won by Jakub Makutynowicz, Krzysztof Rusiecki was second, and Łukasz Zięcina third. In group B, Dariusz Dębal was the best, ahead of Rafał Stawiński and Wojciech Kuc. In group C, Paweł Kiper won, Tadeusz Piotrowski was second, and Szymon Nawrot third.

- Everyone has a bad day and you can't win everything, but I managed to win again - said Jakub Makutynowicz after the tournament, for whom it was the third win in a row. - As always, there was a lot of playing, and the level of competition was very even. I train all the time, so I'm in shape, but I'm not aiming for the final victory. I want to have fun playing, and if I manage to win, I'll be happy.

The tournament series is divided into 10 rounds, and at the end of each round valuable prizes are awarded. The organizer invites all amateurs and fans of table tennis to compete - including children, youth, women and disabled people. The meetings always take place at 110 Łukasińskiego Street. The games start at 10:00.
