Lech Poznań vs. Crvena Zvezda. When is the match? What time?
The most successful Serbian football club in history, Crvena Zvezda, will face Lech Poznań tonight in the first leg of the Champions League third qualifying round. The return leg is scheduled for August 12th.
After their league clashes and their meetings with Icelandic side Breidablik in the second round of Champions League qualifying, the bar is much higher for the Polish champions. As noted by the home coach, Dane Niels Frederiksen, the Balkan players certainly outperform his team in terms of experience.
"I know this team very well, although I hadn't analyzed them before it became clear we might meet in the next round. They've been playing in European competitions for many years, and have competed in the Champions League for the last two seasons. They're certainly an extremely experienced team in that regard," the coach said at a press conference.

Lech is already certain to play in the regular season of European competition this fall. Even if they lose to the Serbian champions and fail to beat their next opponent (KRC Genk) in the fourth round of the Europa League qualifying round, they will still qualify for the Conference League.
However, in the event of a victory over Crvena Zvezda, Poznań will play Dynamo Kyiv or Cypriot Pafos FC in the fourth round of the Champions League qualifying round.
The winner of the Ekstraklasa last season wants to play in the most prestigious and profitable competition, something a Polish club has not achieved since 2016, when Legia Warsaw achieved it.
