Julia Szeremeta advanced to the final of the Feliks Stamm Tournament in Warsaw
In the 1/8 finals, the Englishwoman dealt with Szeremeta, and then finished the entire event with a bronze medal. In later years, Toussaint did much worse. This year, she fought only twice, winning only once. The victory came in April in Helsinki, when she defeated Gabriella Weerheim on points.
In the clash with the Olympic vice-champion Toussaint had no chance. She only greeted Szeremeta with an accurate punch at the beginning of the fight, and then she had nothing to say. The Pole skillfully changed positions. She waited for her opponent to go forward, and then sent unpleasant counter-punches. Szeremeta also regulated the pace of the fight and worked very well with her left hand. It is no wonder that all the judges indicated the Paco competitor as the winner. - I said that my hand would go up after the fight. My opponent did not cope with the half-distance fight. I prefer to fight left-handed, and she cannot do that. I like changing positions, because it calms the fight and allows me to fight at my own pace. There was no nervousness in this fight, because I know what my capabilities and skills are. This fight was clean and very nice. I also feel good in terms of fitness. I’m in good shape and I’m not tired at all, Julia Szermeta told union media.
The final is scheduled for Friday, and Szeremeta will face Khumorabonu Mamajonova from Uzbekistan. The finals will start at 12 and will be broadcast on TVP Sport.
