One can assume that this was a clear signal of protest in the context of the match, when such shocking pre-match images were circulating around the world. The recordings show that there was certainly no shortage of injured people - especially in the case of the aforementioned, visible incident with a car rushing through the crowd.
The derby atmosphere is further fuelled by the fact that on Thursday evening at Espanyol, its biggest rival from across the border could secure the championship title. To win LaLiga, the team that started with Robert Lewandowski and Wojciech Szczęsny in the starting line-up needs three points. If they win, the title will be decided with two rounds to go before the end of the season.
