An unusual birthday present for Flick! La Liga rewards Barcelona coach

Hansi Flick, the current coach of FC Barcelona, celebrates his 60th birthday today. On this anniversary, the German coach received a special gift – he was named La Liga Coach of the Month for February 2025. This is the third such award for Flick this season.
The La Liga Coach of the Month award, which has been given since the 2013/14 season, is given to coaches who have achieved exceptional results with their team in the league during a given month. In February 2025, Flick competed for the award against Getafe CF’s Jose Bordalas and Valencia CF’s Carlos Corberan. Ultimately, it was the German coach who took the win, with the trophy coming his way on his 60th birthday, making the occasion even more special.

Under Flick's guidance, Barcelona recorded an impressive series of victories in February, defeating Deportivo Alaves (1-0), Valencia CF (5-0), Sevilla FC (4-1), Rayo Vallecano (1-0) and Las Palmas (2-0). Thanks to these results, the "Blaugrana" not only regained the position of the leader of La Liga, but also advanced to the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey, where they will face Atletico Madrid. In total, since the beginning of 2025, the team from Catalonia remains unbeaten.
Polish players played a key role in Barcelona's February successes. Robert Lewandowski found the back of the net three times, and his goals against Alaves and Rayo Vallecano had a direct impact on the Blaugrana's full points. Wojciech Szczęsny, in turn, not only became a pillar of the defense of the "Pride of Catalonia" but also won the status of first-choice goalkeeper, pushing Inaki Pena into the background. The experienced goalkeeper recorded four clean sheets in five matches played in February.
