Day of mourning in medical facilities in Krakow

Due to the brutal murder of a doctor, May 6 has been declared a day of mourning at the University Hospital in Krakow, the Jagiellonian University Medical College and the District Medical Chamber. At 12:00 there will be a ceremony commemorating the deceased and a protest against violence against medical personnel.
At exactly 12:00 in front of the University Hospital building, a ceremony will be held to commemorate Dr. Solecki. It will be an expression of solidarity with his family and colleagues, but also a public protest against the growing aggression against healthcare workers. The initiators of the event invite all members of the medical community and residents to join in commemorating the tragically deceased doctor.
Let us recall that the Presidium of the Supreme Medical Council appealed to healthcare workers across the country to pin a black ribbon and observe a minute of silence on April 30. At the same time, it called on state authorities to take urgent action to increase the safety of medical personnel, including providing doctors with the protection due to public officials.
As part of a nationwide protest, on May 10 at 1:00 PM, the Black March of Silence for Physicians will march through the streets of Warsaw. Participants – dressed in black – will march from the Infant Jesus Clinical Hospital to the Ministry of Health. The march will not only be a tribute to Dr. Tomasz Solecki, but also an expression of opposition to all forms of violence that healthcare workers increasingly face.
