Professor Maciej Chałubiński, a distinguished specialist in allergology, internal medicine, and clinical immunology, has died. He headed the Immunology and Allergy Clinic at the Medical University of Lodz. This is another irreparable loss for the academic community of the Lodz University in a short time.
- Prof. Chałubiński headed the Clinic of Immunology and Allergy at the Medical University of Lodz and served as editor-in-chief of the journal Allergy Asthma Immunology – a clinical review.
- He was the author of several dozen scientific publications and co-author of chapters in medical textbooks.
- This is the latest death in a very short time of a scientist associated with the Lodz University. The day before, the Medical University of Lodz said goodbye to Professor Paweł Liberski.
The Medical University of Lodz (UMed) announced the death of Prof. Maciej Chałubiński, MD, PhD, on August 22nd. Just one day after announcing the death of another renowned scientist.
Professor Chałubiński was a distinguished specialist in the fields of allergology, internal medicine, and clinical immunology. For many years, he actively participated in clinical and scientific life, combining medical practice with teaching and research. He was the head of the Immunology and Allergy Clinic at the Medical University of Gdańsk, co-founded its structure, and served as editor-in-chief of the journal Allergy, Asthma, Immunology - Clinical Review.
- His passion, professionalism and kindness will forever remain in the memory of those who had the honor of working with him - recall the scientist's colleagues.
The professor was the author of dozens of international scientific publications and co-authored chapters in medical textbooks. His research focused on, among other things, the mechanisms of hypersensitivity, immune disorders, and modern methods of treating allergic diseases. He collaborated with renowned international centers, including the Swiss Institute of Allergy and Asthma (SIAF) at the University of Zurich.
He was also a member of the European Academy of Allergology and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) and the Polish Society of Allergology. Valued for his inquisitiveness, empathy, and commitment, he left a lasting impression on the hearts of his patients, students, and colleagues.
The staff of the University of Łódź joins the family and loved ones of Professor Maciej Chałubiński in mourning, expressing their deepest sympathy.
