Vehicles with a total value of over PLN 280,000 were seized.

Recently, at the Podkarpacie border crossings, Podkarpacie border guards seized four vehicles – some were wanted vehicles, the rest had modified identification markings.
On Wednesday, August 6, officers at the Budomierz border crossing stopped a Toyota RAV4 being transported from Poland on a flatbed trailer by a Ukrainian citizen. During the check, it turned out that the blank German registration certificate was being sought by the authorities in connection with an ongoing criminal investigation.
"Additionally, in cooperation with an officer posted to the Podkarpacie region as part of the Frontex mission, it was determined that the vehicle's identification markings, including the VIN, had been altered. Officers determined the actual registration number of the car, which was estimated to be worth PLN 140,000. The vehicle and its document were seized, and the driver was questioned."

Shortly thereafter, at the same border crossing, the same vehicle with Ukrainian registration plates was stopped. It was being driven by a Ukrainian citizen. In this case, the identification markings were also tampered with, and after determining the actual details, it was confirmed that the car, with an estimated value of PLN 30,000, had been stolen in Italy. On Friday, August 8th, at the Medyka border crossing, border guards interrupted the journey of a 25-year-old Ukrainian citizen driving a Fiat Ducato. During an inspection of the vehicle's legality, irregularities were discovered in the vehicle's identification plate and VIN.

On Sunday, August 10, a Border Guard patrol from the Rzeszów-Jasionka station, checking vehicles near the Dębica-Wschód junction on the A4 motorway, identified a Mitsubishi Outlander with Norwegian registration plates for inspection. It turned out that the vehicle, driven by a Polish citizen, had been stolen in Norway and its details were listed in international search databases. The vehicle, with an estimated value of PLN 75,000, was seized and handed over to the police, along with the driver.
