In Naples, Leo XIV's election was celebrated with a special pizza and his figurine for the Nativity scene

An exceptional pizza margherita and a figurine for the Nativity scene with the likeness of the new Pope Leo XIV were used to celebrate his election in Naples. Figurines for the Nativity scene of famous people are a specialty of the master craftsmen of this city.
Neapolitan pizzeria owner Ciro Messere has been serving a margherita pizza with the word "Pace" (peace) written on it made from mozzarella since Friday.
“I really liked the pope’s first speech focused on peace,” the restaurateur said, explaining the surprise he had prepared at his restaurant. The new pope used the word “peace” 10 times in his first speech right after his election.
Throughout the night from Thursday to Friday, right after the election of the Pope, the famous Nativity scene maker Genny Di Virgilio made a terracotta figurine resembling Leo XIV. He displayed it in his window on the street of the workshop of the masters of Nativity scene art San Gregorio Armeno. As he explained, he made the statuette based on a photo of the Pope, who smiles and greets the faithful from the balcony of St. Peter's Basilica.
