Football. Kamil Grosicki's farewell match in the Polish national team on June 6 in Chorzów

The friendly match between the Polish national football team and Moldova scheduled for June 6 in Chorzów will be an opportunity to say goodbye to the national team for 94-time international Kamil Grosicki, the Polish Football Association announced.
Grosicki began his international career in February 2008, making his debut for the national team in a match against Finland. For the next sixteen years, he regularly donned the shirt with the eagle on his chest, played in two World Cup finals (2018, 2022) and three European Championships (2012, 2016, 2024). In total, he has amassed 94 national team appearances, scoring seventeen goals.
He announced his decision to part ways with the Polish national team on June 24, 2024, before the last match of the EURO 2024 group stage. "It is a beautiful moment, but also sad, because for a dozen or so years of playing with the eagle on my chest, it was always more than just a match for me. But the day has come," he said at a specially convened press conference in Hanover.
Already then, "Grosik" admitted that he would like to play one more, last match in the colours of the national team.
"My dream is to play a farewell match in Poland, I will talk about it with the coach and president Cezary Kulesza. I hope that I will be granted it. I would like to thank the fans for a dozen or so years of support, my teammates, with captain Robert Lewandowski at the forefront, for so many beautiful moments," he explained.
Such a moment is coming. In the friendly match against Moldova scheduled for June 6, Kamil Grosicki will run out onto the pitch for the last time in a shirt with an eagle on his chest. It will be his 95th match in the colours of the national team. In the entire history, only ten other footballers have played more games in the men's national team. In 2020, Grosicki was included in the Outstanding Representative Club.
The Polish Football Association has prepared a visual identification dedicated to Kamil Grosicki for this special moment. The website laczynaspilka.pl, as well as social media and the YouTube channel, will feature many materials presenting his national team career.
