County Firefighters' Day celebrations. Firefighters celebrated by the lake

The district Firefighters’ Day celebration took place today at Lake Miedwie.

The celebrations began with a mass in the branch church of St. Dominic Savio in Morzyczyn. Afterwards, there was a ceremonial gathering in the bandstand. The celebrations were attended by firefighters from Stargard, volunteers from the Stargard district OSP units, representatives of the city, district, neighboring municipalities, province, as well as councilors and families of the celebrating firefighters. The highlight of the celebrations was the presentation of decorations, including St. Florian, financial awards and promotions to higher service ranks to firefighters who distinguished themselves in their service.

They were presented by Senior Brigadier Mirosław Pender, West Pomeranian Voivodeship Commander of the State Fire Service, and Brigadier Sylwia Formela, District Commander of the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Stargard.

- I express my admiration, respect and appreciation, thank you for the effort you put into your work in the years 2014/2015 - said provincial commander Mirosław Pender. - I also thank you for your readiness to help, risk your lives and improve your qualifications.

The wishes were joined by the mayors of the city, county and communes, as well as the province, including the vice-governor Bartosz Brożyński and Stanisław Kopeć, honorary president of the Board of the Provincial Branch of the Union of Volunteer Fire Departments of the Republic of Poland. After the official part, the firefighters and guests celebrated at a barbecue on the beach on Miedwia.
