BiOSG team the best in Poland

The ceremonial opening of the competition was performed by the commander of the Silesian Border Guard Unit, Brig. Gen. Andrzej Jakubaszek, and the director of the Personnel and Training Office of the Border Guard Headquarters, Colonel Joanna Kostecka. As we have already mentioned, the championship lasted three days. All matches were played in the Rafako Arena sports and entertainment hall in Racibórz in the "each with each" system. The competition was attended by 10 teams representing individual Border Guard units (Bieszczadzki OSG, Morski OSG, Nadbużański OSG, Nadwiślański OSG, Podlaski OSG, Śląski OSG, Karpacki OSG, Warmińsko-Mazurski OSG), the Border Guard Headquarters and the Specialist Training Centre in Lubań. Each team included one woman.
The Polish Border Guard Champion was the team from the Bieszczady Border Guard Unit in Przemyśl, second place was taken by the team from the Maritime Border Guard Unit in Gdańsk, and third place went to the team from the Nadbużański Border Guard Unit in Chełm. The "borderliners" from Przemyśl also won two individual awards. The best female player of the tournament was SG Sergeant Jolanta Górska, while the "top scorer" of the tournament was Senior Warrant Officer Robert Galanty, a former long-time basketball player of the unfortunately no longer existing Polonia Przemyśl.
Awards, medals and diplomas were presented to the competitors – on behalf of the Commander-in-Chief of the Border Guard, Maj. Gen. Robert Bagan – by the Commander of the Silesian Border Guard, Brig. Gen. A. Jakubaszek, and the Head of the Personnel and Training Department, Lt. Col. Jadwiga Bajger-Makówka.
The organizers of the championship were: the Border Guard Headquarters, the Commander of the Silesian Border Guard Unit and NSZZFSG at the Silesian Border Guard.
