A 33-year-old woman arrested in connection with the arson of a police car and the fire at the police station in Lipiany has been charged with several crimes, Julia Szozda, spokeswoman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Szczecin, told the Polish Press Agency (PAP). The prosecutor will file a motion to the court to remand the suspect in custody for three months.

A 33-year-old resident of Lipiany, detained on Friday by Pyrzyce police, was questioned by the prosecutor on Saturday. She was charged with several offenses.

The main charge is attempting to cause an incident that endangers property to the detriment of the Lipiany District Police Headquarters, which carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison. The suspect intended to burn down the Lipiany police station. She was prevented from doing so thanks to the quick extinguishing action of the fire department.

"She set fire to an unmarked police car, worth approximately 20,000 PLN, parked against the front wall, causing the vehicle to completely burn down and causing the fire to spread to the front facade of the police station building. She also caused partial damage," said Prosecutor Szozda.

The 33-year-old is also suspected of stealing some of the police car's equipment. Before setting it on fire, she stole items such as a radio, spare tire, first aid kit, and flashlights.

The woman was also charged with insulting the officers and violating their inviolability. "During her arrest, the suspect was aggressive, insulted the officers with vulgar words, hit them, grabbed them, and bit the officer's hand in order to force them to abandon their duties," said Prosecutor Szozda.

She added that the prosecutor of the Pyrzyce prosecutor's office will submit a motion to the court to temporarily arrest the suspect for three months.

A fire in an unmarked police car in Lipiany (Pyrzyce County), which ignited the front wall of the police station building, occurred overnight between Thursday and Friday. The fire department was alerted at 4:11 a.m. On Friday, police arrested a 33-year-old Lipiany resident on suspicion of arson. A blood sample was taken from her for alcohol and drug testing. (PAP)
