The Attorney General's Office (FGR) challenges the suspension of the arrest warrant against Silvano Aureoles.

MEXICO CITY (apro) - The Attorney General's Office (FGR) challenged the provisional suspension that halts, for now, the execution of any arrest warrant against the former governor of Michoacán, Silvano Aureoles Conejo.
On April 23, Proceso reported that the acting secretary of the Eleventh District Criminal Judge in Mexico City admitted the appeal filed by Aureoles Conejo, against whom there is an arrest warrant for embezzlement, improper performance of public office, criminal association, and operations with illicit proceeds.
By admitting the lawsuit under file number 348/2025, the acting judge granted a provisional suspension that prevents the authorities from arresting Aureoles.
Therefore, today the court received an appeal from the Attorney General's Office (FGR) against the provisional suspension, since it was the federal public prosecutor's office that requested the arrest warrant for Aureoles Conejo from a district judge specializing in the accusatory criminal justice system assigned to the Federal Criminal Justice Center based in the Eastern Prison.
"Mr. Manuel Adrián Valdemar Patiño Ostoa, a Federal Public Prosecutor assigned to the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, files an appeal against the provisional suspension of April 22, 2025, and expresses grievances," the court ruling states.
Similarly, the Federal Ministerial Police (PFM), designated as the enforcing authority for the injunction, filed an appeal against the suspension protecting Aureoles Conejo.
Consequently, both appeals will be sent to a Criminal Court for a decision on whether to uphold the measure.
This does not prevent the acting District Judge from deciding whether or not to grant the former governor of Michoacán a permanent suspension. He has scheduled an incidental hearing for tomorrow at 11:05 a.m.
According to the court records, Aureoles Conejo has already submitted the guarantee required by the court to maintain the measure, which is a bond of 52,000 pesos.
“Add to the records the complainant's written statement, in which he exhibits deposit note number ******** for the amount of $52,000.00 (FIFTY-TWO THOUSAND PESOS 00/100 MN), issued by the Banco del Bienestar, at the disposal of this Court, so that the provisional suspension granted to him may take effect,” the court notified on April 25.
