Bivol does not rule out a second fight against "Canelo" Alvarez

Russian boxer Dmitry Bivol, who last Saturday became the undisputed champion in the light heavyweight category, remains open to the possibility of having a second fight against Saúl "Canelo" Álvarez.
Although months ago Bivol himself assured that he was not interested in closing a second fight against the boxer from Guadalajara, whom he defeated in 2022, the victory that gave him all the 175-pound belts has made him open his eyes and look for new objectives; among them, conquering the belts that "Canelo" has in the 168-pound category.
"Yes, I could go down to 168, but maybe I could go up, I wouldn't like to put so much pressure on my body. I don't know what's at cruiserweight, but at super middleweight all the belts are with 'Canelo', it's an option, but I don't know."
"I want to fight for the belts, that's the first thing I want, I want to fight for my legacy, I want to get the most out of the fights, it's not about money, but about being remembered by people in the history of boxing, that's what I want," he said.
Next May, the Guadalajara native will face William Scull in Saudi Arabia, in order to regain the undisputed title in the category, since the Cuban holds the International Boxing Federation (IBF) belt, after the Guadalajara native did not defend it last year.
Later, "Canelo" will face Terence Crawford, where all the belts will also be at stake, so a possible fight between the Guadalajara native and Bivol would take place in 2026.
