Pedro Sánchez calls a new National Security Council meeting to address the blackout

Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has convened the National Security Council again today in Moncloa to continue assessing the situation caused by the blackout that has affected the country.
The leader of the Executive met "urgently" yesterday afternoon with the main electricity companies at La Moncloa Palace and asked them to collaborate to clarify the cause of the blackout that left the entire Iberian Peninsula without power.
At this meeting held at the Presidential Complex, the president also thanked them "for their work in quickly restoring power supply," he wrote in a message on the social network 'X', reported by Europa Press.
The third meeting of the National Security Council, scheduled for 9:00 a.m., will be attended by a large part of the Executive Branch, along with the Chief of the Defense Staff, Admiral Teodoro López Calderón, the director of the CNI, Esperanza Casteleiro, and the director of the Department of National Security, Loreto Gutiérrez.
