During the event he organized to honor economist Jesús Huerta de Soto, President Javier Milei gave a speech (closed to the press and without official broadcast) in which he maintained that Argentina is growing at a rate of 10% and reiterated his prediction that inflation will cease to be a problem by 2026.
"When you look at the December-December data, in seasonally adjusted terms, according to the EMAE (Monthly Estimator of Economic Activity), a proxy for GDP, it grew 6%. The latest available figure is 5.7%, but the seasonally adjusted figure is 0.8%. In other words, Argentina is currently growing at a rate of 10%," he stated.
Furthermore, when speaking about the stabilization and adjustment plan he has been implementing since taking office, he stated that "it is hoped that by the middle of next year, inflation will no longer be a problem in Argentina."
