Horacio Rodríguez Larreta attacked the PRO administration in the city, and Silvia Lospennato took his toll.

Horacio Rodríguez Larreta once again attacked the PRO administration in the city during the debate he led with other legislative candidates ahead of the May 18 elections. He surprised everyone with his remarks at the end by affirming his desire to return to being mayor. Silvia Lospennato , a candidate for that position for the party that currently manages the city, came forward and criticized him .
"I want to thank the City Government, which is campaigning by praising the projects I completed during my administration . Basically, because they don't have a single one of Jorge Macri's projects to show for it," lashed out the former PRO leader, who also referred again to the "filth" in public spaces and the insecurity in the district. On this last point, he reiterated his comparison: "People are afraid; this is what the suburbs look like."
Along those lines, the representative of Volvamos Buenos Aires insisted: " The city is in bad shape; it's not what it used to be . People are telling us so on the streets. We porteños deserve much more."
Later, the former mayor was challenged by Lospennato. This happened when candidate Marcelo Peretta, of the Plural Movement, challenged her by quoting Rodríguez Larreta: "Your former mayor claims the city is dirty, smells like urine, and is unsafe. What do you have to say?" he asked.
In that context, the national representative responded: "I am at this podium representing the only PRO slate in this election. Horacio left the party, abandoned it, and in this election, he's running against PRO . It's a shame, but it was his decision."

At the end of the debate, in a message addressed to the people of Buenos Aires, the former mayor referred to his eight years in office. "You know me well. I'm not good at political speeches and events; that's not my thing. My thing is doing things, solving problems, and helping you," he stated.
Along the same lines, he continued: " Some people call me a robot, an alien, that I'm from another planet . What I do know is that I fulfilled my commitment. Work that began in the City is finished."

In this context, the former PRO leader made his surprising statement: "What Buenos Aires needs is less politics and more management. Someone who loves the city and works, works, works. That's why I want to be mayor again," he said.
