Spanish actress Verónica Echegui dies at 42

MADRID (EUROPA PRESS) -Actress Verónica Echegui died at the age of 42, confirmed the Actors' Union through its profile on the social network X. The funeral chapel was installed in the La Paz Funeral Home in Madrid, confirmed to Europa Press.
The actress made her television debut with small roles in various television series. Her first foray into the world of film was in the film "Yo no soy la Juani," where she played the lead character. For this role, she was nominated for the Goya Award for Best New Actress. Echegui subsequently starred in several projects such as "Tocar el cielo," "El menor de los males," "8 citas," and "La casa de mi padre."
For her work, she received several nominations for Best Leading Actress for "El patria de mi cárcel" (2008) and "Karmandú, un espejo en el cielo" (2011), as well as Best Supporting Actress for "Explota, explota" (2020). It was in 2022 when she managed to win the statuette as director of the short film "Tótem loba."
