MEXICO CITY.- This Friday, during her usual morning press conference, the president of Mexico , Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo , assured that trade negotiations with the United States are "very advanced," while avoiding commenting on the sudden announcement by the US president, Donald Trump , to suspend trade negotiations with Ottawa .
"We'll wait to see how the relationship with Canada develops. In the case of Mexico, we're well ahead," the president emphasized.
"The Secretary of Economy ( Marcelo Ebrard ) is going to APEC (in South Korea) next week, where he will still have meetings with the Trump administration to finalize some agreements that we still need to finalize, but we're doing very well," he added.
