They will seek reproductive justice in the Comarca Lagunera

With the firm conviction that access to sexual and reproductive rights must be universal, safe, and guaranteed, the DDSER Coahuila - Acompanantes Laguna collective launched the "The Growing Green Wave" campaign, a social and political advocacy project that will support the Laguna Region from March 2025 to February 2026.

It was reported that the project will be centered in the cities of Torreón, Coahuila, and Gómez Palacio, Durango, where a series of activities will be carried out to strengthen collective awareness about reproductive justice and the eradication of gender-based violence.

The campaign seeks not only to raise awareness in society, but also to promote real changes in public policy through coordinated work with government institutions, civil society organizations, and local communities.

A YEAR OF JOINT WORK

"The Growing Green Wave" focuses on promoting sexual and reproductive rights (with special emphasis on access to legal, safe, and free abortion) and preventing and addressing the gender-based violence that persists in the region.

Through the coordination of community actions and institutional advocacy strategies, the collective seeks to intervene on two fundamental fronts: the social fabric and the political structure.

Over the coming months, workshops, forums, community dialogues, mentoring, discussions, health fairs, and recreational activities will be held, all designed to foster knowledge, critical reflection, and collective action.

These activities are primarily aimed at women, pregnant people, and the general public, creating safe spaces where topics such as reproductive rights, violence prevention, bodily autonomy, and access to health services are addressed.

Furthermore, the collective will focus on creating strategic alliances with public institutions, inviting them to actively participate in the development of public policies with a gender and human rights perspective.

FEMINIST TRANSFORMATION DDSER

Coahuila - Acompañantes Laguna emphasized that this effort reflects a deep commitment to the Laguna region, where access to reproductive rights has historically been marked by social, legal, and cultural obstacles.

In this context, "The Growing Green Wave" presents itself as a call to action, community organizing, and strengthening networks that enable the collective demand for rights.
