Argentina pulls off the daisy
He loves me-he loves me not… Milei wants to maintain his “alignment” with Trump , without abandoning his solidarity with Zelensky and Ukraine.
The reality is that the world cares little about what Argentina thinks on issues such as Ukraine or the Middle East… and we should concentrate on “our place in the world”, that is, the South Atlantic, our integration link with our South American neighbors -with Brazil as our axis-; the projection towards the Pacific -through our relationship with Chile- and, finally, privileging our central role as Permanent Secretary of the Antarctic Treaty.
The President, the Chancellor, or the Minister of Defense NEVER speak about ALL of these issues. It seems that we do not understand WHERE we are and where we should be playing our cards.
We get lost between the chainsaw and the cryptomemes, and a pretentious vision of ourselves, while we ignore the very important responsibilities we have in our own region .
We were, like Australia and Canada, peripheral but RICH countries, and if we concentrated, we could be so again.
Finding “our place in the world” remains our unfinished business.
