Some celebrate chestnuts, others mushrooms, the first truffles of the season, and still others wines. But there are also festivals celebrating typical local products, such as Cremona salami and Asiago DOP cheese.

Salami Festival in CremonaFrom October 3rd to 5th, the seventh edition of the food event celebrates tradition, culinary art, and the excellence of Italian products, with a special focus on salami and other artisanal delicacies. This year, flavor will take center stage not only through authentic flavors, but also through a series of unmissable events hosted by some of the industry's leading players. The Cremona Salami Festival will also be the ideal stage for a series of events sure to excite even the most discerning palates. "Unusual Salami" is dedicated to unconventional cured meats; "Bread, Salami, and Mostarda" showcases gourmet sandwiches; and "Vino e Salame in Viaggio" takes participants on a journey through Italy, featuring food and wine stops dedicated to regional cured meats and wines. Street Food in CesenaFrom October 3 to 5, 2025, Cesena will once again be the world capital of street food with the 25th edition of the International Street Food Festival. This pioneering event celebrates a quarter century of flavors, cultures, and conviviality. Born as the first festival dedicated to street food in Italy, the Cesena Festival has won the hearts of over 100,000 visitors each year, becoming a hub for food enthusiasts. This year, the square will transform into a global gastronomic journey, with approximately one hundred specialties for tasting from Brazil, Japan, Greece, Mexico, Peru, Thailand, and the United States, along with Italian regional specialties from Abruzzo, Campania, Emilia-Romagna, Marche, Puglia, Sicily, and Tuscany.
Milano Wine Week 2025 in MilanFrom October 4th to 12th, the wine event returns to Milan for its eighth edition, bringing with it a packed calendar of events that combine lifestyle, culture, innovation, entertainment, and top labels. With a major change: Milano Wine Week is moving to a new location, but will remain in the city center. The beating heart of the 2025 edition will be the Milan Marriott Hotel at Via Washington 66, the new headquarters, an iconic space and a hub for the international hospitality industry. The hotel's spacious rooms will host talks, masterclasses, tastings, and the grand tastings of Wine List Italia, the one-of-a-kind guide to the finest wines, both Italian and international, selected by 100 top sommeliers from across the country, each with their own personal selections. From October 3rd to 19th, Soriano nel Cimino hosts the 58th annual Chestnut Festival. Each year, this event transforms this village in the Viterbo Tuscia area into an open-air stage, filled with drums, medieval costumes, and the scent of chestnuts. On one side, there's the historical reenactment, with costumed parades ("Soriano ei suoi rioni" on October 12th), musicians, flag-throwers, swordsmen, and falconers catapulting visitors back to the Middle Ages; on the other, there's the gastronomic festival, with taverns ready to indulge every palate and transform the chestnut into the undisputed queen of autumn. There's no shortage of exhibitions, lectures, and guided tours for culture lovers, while the streets of the medieval village come alive with craft, antique, and vintage markets. And finally, the most anticipated moment always arrives: the grand roasted chestnut tasting in the square.
Serdiana Wine Festival – Intrecci di Vite 2025 Serdiana (CA)On October 4, 2025, Serdiana will once again become the capital of Sardinian wine and culture with the Wine Festival – Intrecci di Vite, one of the most anticipated events of the Sardinian autumn. The town's streets and squares will be transformed into a grand food and wine festival, ready to welcome thousands of visitors with tastings, shows, workshops, and social gatherings. The afternoon celebrations begin in Piazza Eroici Caduti, where from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, children will be the focus of games and entertainment, while the first tastings of local wines will begin. National White Truffle Fair in Pergola (PU)The National Fair of the Fine White Truffle and Typical Products in Pergola, the 28th edition of a festival celebrating the " Gold of Pergola ," kicks off on Sunday, October 5th and runs for the following two Sundays (October 12th and 19th). On the three Sundays of the fair, the "Marche da Mangiare" square will offer a Special Culture & Cuisine Package: a truffle-themed menu and a visit to the Museum of the Gilded Bronzes and the City of Pergola. Tacchie Porcini Mushroom Festival in Bellegra (RM)From October 3rd to 12th, Bellegra, the " City of Panoramas ," welcomes the 17th Porcini Mushroom Tacchie Festival, returning on the weekends of October 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 10th, 11th, and 12th, 2025. Six days of pure joy for lovers of good food and tradition, with a menu that leaves no room for doubt: the star of the show is tacchie, handmade pasta made only with flour and water, topped with porcini mushrooms that exude a forest-like, home-cooked aroma. At the food stands (open for lunch and dinner), you can enjoy a full menu fit for true connoisseurs—bread and porcini mushrooms, tacchie, a meat-based main course with porcini mushrooms, wine, or water—or opt for individual dishes. To avoid the queues, meals will be distributed across three different locations in the village.

The Valdieri community is preparing to celebrate the traditional Sagra del Garun with a rich program of events taking place on Saturday, October 4th and Sunday, October 5th. The evening will continue with a DJ who will get everyone dancing. The celebrations will continue the following day, Sunday, October 5th. Throughout the day, craft markets will enliven the square. Two free walks, " Discovering the Treasures of Valdieri ," with a Park Guide, organized by the Rye Ecomuseum, will also be held, meeting at 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 2:00 p.m. in front of the Town Hall. For lunch, at 12:30 p.m., there will be a ravioli tasting in the marquee, subject to availability. In the afternoon, roasted chestnuts will be distributed, and starting at 3:00 p.m., there will be a concert featuring Occitan dances by the "CataFolk" group.
Vicenza Dairies Celebrate in Bressanvido (VI)On Sunday, October 5th, Latterie Vicentine in Festa returns with an open house at the production facility, workshops, cooking demonstrations, music, and delicious food. The eleventh edition features a major open house event at the largest Asiago DOP cheese production facility, where attendees can enjoy a variety of activities. First up is a tour of the facility aboard a small train, offering a firsthand look at the Vicenza cooperative's entire production process. The highlight of the day, as always, will be the traditional cutting of the world's largest Asiago DOP cheese— over 1,000 kg —produced using milk from the mountain pastures of the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni. The cheese will be distributed to those in attendance, with proceeds going to charity.
Cuttlefish Festival in Ostia (RM)The sixth annual Cuttlefish Festival, held in Piazza Anco Marzio in Ostia , will run until October 5th. This event combines traditional cuisine, performances, and entertainment, making it one of the most anticipated events on the Roman coast. The food court will be located at the entrance to the pedestrian area, where you can sample cuttlefish-themed dishes: cuttlefish and pea soup, caserecce pasta with squid ink, and fried cuttlefish with chili pepper mayonnaise. There will also be an area dedicated to aperitifs and street food. The central stage will host performances every evening: theater, comedy, group dancing, live music, and cover bands. New this year is a play area in the square's gardens with games and activities for children.
