The All Star Game Florence returns from July 7th to 13th

Florence, July 4, 2025 - From July 7 to 13, the 'All Star Game Firenze' returns to Florence , in Piazzale Michelangelo. The event, now in its eighth edition, features basketball and beach volleyball as the main sports: for a week, the four symbolic colors of the city, Azzurri, Bianchi, Rossi and Verdi , will compete. As can be read in a note from the Municipality of Florence, many other collateral activities are also scheduled: among these, running (the Asg Urban trail will take place on July 7, a non-competitive race with two routes, respectively of 4 and 8 kilometers) and pickleball performances (a sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping pong) and dance (by Florence Pole Dance, Scuola danza Primule, Opus ballet and Mad). Friday, July 11, the 'white night' linked to the Tommasino Bacciotti foundation is scheduled. In total, as stated on the event's official website, 67 beach volleyball teams and 83 basketball teams will participate: 100 volunteers are involved. And 25,000 spectators are expected in Piazzale Michelangelo in a set-up area where there will be seven consecutive days of sport and which will be 4,000 square meters in size. "A recurring event in our city - underlined the sports councilor Letizia Perini - eagerly awaited by many lovers of both basketball and beach volleyball but not only: there are many organizations that use the space in the morning or afternoon for exhibitions or training". "It is very nice that sport can fill Piazzale Michelangelo, with a wonderful view of Florence - added the councilor - there will be many exciting and hard-fought matches, it will be a moment in which many young people and kids will meet to experience evenings of sport together. And it is nice that many organizations in our area have collaborated to create an event like this, which is enriched every year with different disciplines".
