Perugia, May 25, 2025 – Administrative elections in Umbria : on Sunday 25 and Monday 26 May, voting will take place in three municipalities: Assisi , Amelia , and Monte Santa Maria Tiberina. Voters will be able to go to the polls on Sunday 25 from 7 am to 11 pm; on Monday 26 from 7 am to 3 pm.

The Vote in Assisi

In Assisi, citizens will have to vote for the direct election of the mayor, with Valter Stoppini running for the center-left and Eolo Cicogna for the center-right – and the renewal of the city council for which 160 are running, divided into ten lists , five for each group: Assisi Domani, Assisi Civica, Partito Democratico, Progressisti per Assisi, Lista Valter Stoppini per Assisi for the center-left. Assisi al Centro – Cicogna Sindaco, Forza Italia, Eolo Cicogna Sindaco, Fratelli d'Italia, Lega for the center-right . 23,026 voters are called to the polls, the majority of whom are women, 11,822, compared to men, 11,204 out of a population of 27,880. There are 32 polling stations set up in the municipal territory. In recent days there has been a succession of commitments for the two challengers to the tricolor sash. Elly Schlein , national secretary of the Democratic Party, and Nicola Zingaretti also came to support Stoppini . Emanuele Prisco , undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior, the minister of culture Alessandro Giuli and Guido Castelli , extraordinary commissioner for post-earthquake reconstruction, spoke for Cicogna.

The vote for Amelia

In Amelia, to replace the outgoing mayor Laura Pernazza (Forza Italia), the candidates we find are Avio Proietti Scorsoni representing the centre-right, while for the centre-left, Pompeo Petrarca is running, supported by the PD, M5S, Verdi-Sinistra and Socialists.

The vote in Monte Santa Maria Tiberina

In Monte Santa Maria Tiberina there are three candidates in the running: Rinaldo Mancini for the centre-left (PD + “Impegno Comune”), Francesco Algeri Rignanese for the centre-right (FdI + civica), and Giorgia Gorini , formerly of the League, now with “ Umbria Autonoma ”.
