The 2025 home appliance bonus is here, aiming to encourage the purchase of energy-efficient appliances to allow users to replace obsolete devices. Who is eligible? How much is the bonus worth based on ISEE (Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator)? How is it used?

Who is entitled to the bonus

The bonus is available to adults residing in Italy. Users can apply via the IO app or the dedicated website. The application deadlines will be communicated by the Ministry .

How and when to apply

The bonus is coming to fruition in the coming days. The first phase concerns producers and sellers, who can register on the dedicated platform starting October 23 (producers) and October 27 (sellers). The procedures to be followed by the two categories are explained in detail by the ministry . Then, in the second phase, it will be time for users to ask questions.

How much is the bonus worth?

The contribution, the ministry explains, serves to incentivize the replacement of an appliance with a highly energy-efficient model and promote sustainability and the energy transition.

The bonus covers up to 30% of the purchase cost, with a maximum of:

100 euros per registered family;

€200 for each registered family with an ISEE of less than €25,000 per year.

The resources available to end users for 2025 amount to 48.1 million euros (50 million net of charges for the Managers, namely PagoPA SpA and Invitalia SpA) drawn from the fund established at the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy.

Appliances to be scrapped

Only highly energy-efficient appliances as per Article 3 of the Interministerial Decree of September 3, 2025 (such as washing machines, dishwashers, refrigerators, ovens, and hobs) are permitted, classified by product category.
