Invalsi 2025 tests start on March 3, high school graduates begin

The Invalsi 2025 tests will begin to be held in schools on March 3. As always, they start with high school graduates. The national surveys are carried out at different times during the school career and help to understand the level of competence achieved by students throughout their entire school education. The data from the tests provide an overview of the state of health of the Italian school system and show what works well and can be taken as a model and also what is not going as it should and therefore needs to be addressed. The standardized surveys - explain the Invalsi experts - are not used to give a grade to students and are not connected to the usual assessment activities that teachers carry out in the classroom. The administration method changes depending on the education cycle: in primary school the tests take place simultaneously on the same day for each subject and at the same time with the traditional paper and pencil method. Secondary school, on the other hand, uses PCs and carries out the tests within an administration period set at a national level. This time window can be managed independently by each school, depending on the number of students and the number of computers available. The sample classes - that is, the classes chosen as representative of the Italian school system and whose results serve as a reference - take the tests on specific days defined at the national level. All students take an Italian test and a math test; some also take two English tests, Reading and Listening.
