Basilica of St. Anthony, the coat of arms of Pope Leo XIV hoisted on the facade

Yesterday morning, Monday 30 June, the day after the solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, the coat of arms of Pope Leo XIV was hoisted above the main entrance door of the Pontifical Basilica of Saint Anthony in Padua, between the lunette frescoed by Mantegna and the statue of Saint Anthony, replacing the previous one of Pope Francis.
The coat of arms has been inserted into the traditional support with a shield stamped with a silver miter, with the Petrine keys tied with a cord. The coat of arms of the Holy Father Leo XIV rises in a blue field, a color that recalls the heights of the heavens and is characterized by its Marian value, a classic symbol in reference to the Blessed Virgin Mary, the lily (flos florum). In the other field, in white, stands out the emblem of the Augustinian Order, a burning heart pierced by an arrow and supported by a book symbolizing the Word of God that can transform the heart of every man. As is known, the "Antonian Complex", of which the Basilica of Saint Anthony is a part, is the property of the Holy See.
