"What happened is linked to the geological context of the Alta Valsusa, where these quantities of rain trigger phenomena of very dense mudflows, with a very significant destructive power". "Yesterday's storms recorded almost 40 millimetres of rain in the space of an hour. Instead, in the Alta Valsusa these phenomena, combined with the presence of debris, slopes and state of degradation of the rocks, lead to these episodes, which seem similar to gray and very dense lava flows".
