Where to eat the best pizza in the world in 2025?

The years go by and they all look the same. The online guide 50 Top Pizza , which has been publishing an international ranking of the world's best pizzerias since 2022, is juggling its top positions. This year, the top step of the podium is the same as in the inaugural ranking three years ago. Two restaurants share the honors: I Masanielli by Francesco Martucci in Caserta, Campania, the homeland of pizza, and Una Pizza Napoletana by Anthony Mangieri, across the Atlantic, in New York.

The first is located outside of Caserta's city center, on the ground floor of a commercial building, next to a gas station. However, it has recently been renovated to erase its canteen feel, with the addition of a room dedicated to the tasting menu (€70). You can enjoy a simple margherita or much more complex recipes, like La Futuro di Marinara, the chef's signature pizza, whose dough is cooked three times (steamed at 100°C, fried at 180°C, then in a wood-fired oven at 400°C), topped with roasted tomato cream, anchovies, capers, and oregano.

The second, located on the Lower East Side, is the sixth venture of Anthony Mangieri, a New Jersey native and pioneer of Neapolitan pizza in the United States. His short menu offers only five classic pizzas, and a sixth of the day, to which, as is customary in the United States, customers can add toppings (parmesan, anchovies, Neapolitan pepper, etc.).

Next in line are The Pizza Bar On 38th in Tokyo, Japan ( ^2nd ) and Leggera Pizza Napoletana in São Paulo, Brazil ( ^3rd ). A total of 37 countries are represented in the ranking, demonstrating the "gourmetization" of this popular product. Italy has 41 locations, ahead of the United States with 16. Naples is the best-served city, tied with São Paulo (5 locations each).

You have to wait until ^27th position to find a French address, IMperfetto, in Puteaux (Hauts-de-Seine), which is surprisingly the only French address in the top 100, even though you can find delicious pizzas in France, at Oobatz (Paris ^11th ) for example, or in the addresses of Giuseppe Cutraro.

The 50 Top Pizza is, however, planning to organize for the first time in Paris, after Milan, Seville, Barcelona and Zurich, a Pizza Week, from October 7 to 11, with dinners, masterclasses and other events around the Neapolitan recipe.
