The Friends of Pierre Loti and Trois-Mâts Basque celebrate the writer and the Basque Country during walks on the Bidasoa, with readings and songs

For the third consecutive year, the Friends of Pierre Loti (Hendaiako Lotiren Lagunak) are reuniting with members of the Trois-Mâts Basque association to celebrate, in the arms of the Bidassoa, the great writer's perpetual marriage to the sea and the Basque Country.

Hendaye: May of the theater celebrates 40 years of live performance

This year, the May of Theatre celebrates its 40th edition in Hendaye. Over the years, this street arts festival has remained true to its original spirit: bringing culture closer to the locals and attracting the best companies.

To the discovery of the sardine boat "Alba" , as Loti knew it - and perhaps used it as early as 1903 - is added the pleasure of sailing on the "immobile mirror" of the border river, accompanied by readings of the texts of the astonishing Hendayais by adoption: commander of the stationary "Le Javelot " by day, smuggler by night, great lover of the Basque Country, its people, its language... and its women. Readings, explanations and songs will be performed by Arantza.
