STORY - At the invitation of Audi, two "Figaro drivers" took turns at the wheel of an electric sports car for a new kind of event where minimum fuel consumption is as important as top speed.
Up to 680 horsepower, more than a naturally aspirated Formula 1 car from the 1980s, to be tamed on the Paul Ricard circuit: that's promising! This is the challenge that Audi has proposed to eleven media outlets, including Le Figaro , during a two-hour relay race. The chosen vehicle is no ballerina - it weighs nearly 2.4 tons - but it defies preconceived notions. It's an S e-tron GT sedan (€137,650), one of the flagships of the German manufacturer's electric range.
Its technical specifications will make the pulse of anyone with a sporty streak quicken: 740 Nm of torque available from start-up; 3.4 seconds to reach 100 km/h; a top speed of 245 km/h; four-wheel drive and steering; brake discs with tungsten carbide coating; a lowered center of gravity thanks to the battery in the floor.
