12 destinations around the world where you can travel for less than $51 a day

As we know, the cost of living and travel has increased in recent years. To fulfill our dreams of adventure abroad, we're looking for affordable destinations more than ever.
Hello Safe Canada, an insurance company, recently published a comprehensive ranking of the most and least expensive countries to travel to in 2025.
The list includes 131 states and takes into account the average daily budget needed for food (based on local CPI indices and restaurant costs), transportation once there (plane, train, bus, taxi), entertainment (tours, activities), and accommodation (hotel or Airbnb) as a tourist. The cost of airfare to get to your destination is not part of the equation.
The result? It costs an average of $22 to $417 per day to travel around the world this year. The most expensive country is Barbados in the Caribbean, and the cheapest countries are listed below.
For your information, Canada is the 32nd most expensive country with an average daily budget of $216.

What influences the daily budget? The study on the most and least expensive countries looked at the reasons behind the large cost differences between destinations.
The most expensive travel destinations often share a high tourist popularity, relatively high-end infrastructure and hotels, and a high standard of living. Conversely, those that offer very low-cost travel have a lower standard of living and inexpensive tourist infrastructure.
A note on traveler safetyThe Government of Canada issues travel advisories for every country in the world. It classifies destinations according to a four-level risk scale: Exercise normal safety precautions (1), Exercise a high degree of caution (2), Avoid non-essential travel (3), Avoid all travel (4).
The original Hello Safe list included countries Canada advises against traveling to. We've removed these from the list, retaining only countries under Levels 1 (Kazakhstan, Rwanda, Mongolia, Armenia, Georgia) and 2.
