Due to a "dental problem", the French striker missed training on Tuesday but the Real Madrid coach praised his influence.
Skip the adReal Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti assured on Tuesday that the arrival last summer of French striker Kylian Mbappé, who has established himself match after match as the leader of the Spanish giant's attack, had not upset the balance of his dressing room.
"There is always a good atmosphere in the dressing room. As I said, Mbappé arrived with humility, keeping a low profile. I even think the atmosphere has improved in a way. We have even more confidence because one of the best players in the world is now with us. In terms of ego, nothing has changed," Ancelotti said in a press conference on the eve of the Copa del Rey semi-final first leg against Real Sociedad in San Sebastian.
Asked about Mbappe's absence from training, Ancelotti confirmed that the current top scorer of the Merengue club with 28 goals in 39 matches was suffering from "a dental problem" , but that he would be available for Wednesday's match at Anoeta (9:30 p.m.).
The Italian coach also once again railed against "an absurd calendar" , while the Spanish and European champions are entering a decisive period with high-stakes matches every three days.
"Considering the absurd schedule we have, we are doing very well. Tomorrow will be our 17th game in 52 days. It is a totally unsustainable pace. I am tired and I have the impression that you are tired too. We need a rest!" he told reporters.
