Serris: Morhad Amdouni, French marathon record holder, convicted of domestic violence
The athlete, who appeared before the Meaux Criminal Court on Monday, was sentenced, despite his denials, to ten months in prison, suspended. He will also have to attend a course on prevention against domestic violence.

The Meaux Criminal Court tried Morhad Amdouni on Monday for domestic violence, committed at the family home in Serris, on September 18, 2024. The French marathon record holder was prosecuted for strangling his wife during an argument over the mailbox key. The athlete, arrested by the Lagny-sur-Marne police, had been placed under judicial supervision following his police custody.
At the hearing, Morhad Amdouni appeared very affected. It was with a tremor in his voice that he began his hearing: "It's difficult today. I understand her state of mind, but calling me a rapist, insinuating things, getting to this point... She got her revenge, she got her revenge." The 36-year-old athlete returned several times to the "betrayal" that marked the end of his marital relationship, namely the existence of a mistress. His wife had found out, hence the electric atmosphere within the couple last September.
