Legion X, the Paris FC ultra supporters group, has been dissolved

Barely time to celebrate Paris FC's historic weekend. Legion X, a group of ultra supporters of the club – which was not recognized by the management –, just promoted to Ligue 1 , was dissolved due to its involvement in "violence" and "damage" , according to a decree published Sunday in the Official Journal .

"The members of Legion X are involved in violence, fights or attempted fights which have caused several injuries and, on the other hand, in damage to property in or around sports grounds," justifies the decree, dated May 1.

Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau, who wants to restore order in football stadiums, announced on April 1 that he would propose to Prime Minister François Bayrou that the group be dissolved.

"These are not supporters of Paris FC ," reacted Pierre Ferracci, president of the Parisian club, owned by the Arnault family and Red Bull. "We note with satisfaction the desire of the public authorities to dissolve this group."

Two AS Saint-Etienne ultra groups, the Magic Fans and the Green Angels , are also in the Interior Ministry's sights. However, the latter, supported by the Saint-Etienne club's management, have so far been spared.
