AS Monaco: Vanderson out for Strasbourg visit

Vanderson will not play against Strasbourg this Sunday afternoon at the Louis-II, on the occasion of the 3rd day of Ligue 1 (5:15 p.m.).

Remaining in the gym this Friday morning at La Turbie, exempt from the collective session to digest intense sessions carried out on Wednesday and Thursday, which his trainer Adi Hütter had explained, the Brazilian has a calf injury.

His injury could jeopardize his selection for Brazil, whom he was due to join for two 2026 World Cup qualifying matches, against Chile at the Maracana and in Bolivia, on September 5 and 10.

His future at ASM remains unclear just days before the summer transfer window closes, scheduled for Monday, September 1st at 8 p.m. The right-back was a substitute in the first two league matches against Le Havre (3-1) and Lille (0-1). Jordan Teze started both matches.

Paul Pogba and Ansu Fati will also be missing from the recovery phase. The 2018 world champion's return to competition is still scheduled for October, while the Spanish international's return is scheduled for after the September international break.
