"When I was asked to swap positions, I did it straight away": Charles Leclerc assures that he didn't waste any time before giving up his place to Lewis Hamilton in Miami

Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), 7th, speaking to Canal+: "I don't know what Lewis (Hamilton) was asking, but I don't blame him. Our goal is to maximize the result, but I think there weren't enough discussions on my side before making the swap. At that point, I was trying to save my tires for the end of the race. When I was asked to swap positions, I did it straight away. I don't know what the discussions were between him and the team before that. It didn't necessarily pay off, but that's how it is. It's difficult, we'll discuss it with the team. We have to be better than that. It wasn't a great weekend."
"It may seem strange, but I think we did the job."
Frédéric Vasseur (Ferrari Team Principal), speaking to Canal+: "It may seem strange, but I think we did the job. Lewis (Hamilton) was on the medium and Charles (Leclerc) on the hard. So Lewis certainly had a better chance of catching Antonelli. We asked them to swap positions. And our internal rule is that the drivers swap positions again if we don't catch the car in front. Afterwards, we can argue that we lost half a lap or a lap waiting to do so. But I don't think many teams asked their drivers to swap positions today (Sunday) ."
