Created in 2008, Terra Nova is a think tank, one of the most influential in the French political landscape, located on the left of the political spectrum.

Founded on the initiative of Olivier Ferrand, a former senior civil servant and political advisor who died in 2012, Terra Nova has a dual mission: to be both an independent think tank and a committed player in social transformation. The association, structured as a network of experts, researchers, political leaders, and citizens, regularly publishes notes and reports on topics as diverse as work, ecology, inequality, Europe, and democracy.
