What if the rules for salary advances were made easier? This is what Ensemble pour la République (EPR) MP Jean Laussucq wants. He tabled a bill on Tuesday, May 20, aimed at relaxing the conditions under which an employee can receive part of their salary before the end of the month. Currently, it is possible to request half of their monthly pay from the 15th of the month, but in practice, those primarily concerned often encounter difficulties accessing it.
Does this mean making a weekly salary possible? Jean Laussucq, who doesn't advocate "splitting the salary," doesn't go that far. Monthly payments "are a given for employees and make it easier for employers to manage," he explains. "It's also a form of protection, and we've organized many aspects of our lives around monthly payments. Whether it's paying rent, loans, subscriptions , or even the children's school meals, for example."
