No, the rules for receiving back-to-school allowance on Tuesday have not changed, contrary to what TikTok videos claim

It's the end-of-summer chestnut. Every year, the deadline for the payment of the back-to-school allowance (ARS) , which is scheduled for Tuesday, August 19, is accompanied by a significant amount of controversy, extravagant statements, and even false information. This is the case with content currently circulating on the social network TikTok, which claims that new rules have come into effect for receiving the benefit.
"According to a joint decree from the Ministries of Solidarity and Economy, you will soon have to justify each expense with receipts to receive your back-to-school allowance," one of the videos states, for example. " Each beneficiary will have to scan all receipts related to the purchase of supplies. Data, amount, date, and brand, will be transmitted to the CAF via the MonARS + app." This is completely false, and in fact, the app mentioned doesn't even exist.
Created in 1974, the ARS is paid by the CAF (Family Allowance Fund) and the agricultural social security funds (MSA) to families with at least one child aged 6 to 18 in school whose income is below the minimum wage plus one-third. Its amount varies between 420 and 460 euros depending on the age of the children. It will be granted for this academic year under the same conditions as in previous years.
