In Corsica, a man has been charged and imprisoned in connection with the murder of a student

A man was charged and placed in pre-trial detention on Thursday evening, October 30, suspected of being involved in the shooting death of a student who was likely targeted by mistake in Haute-Corse in February, the Marseille prosecutor's office announced.
The 22-year-old suspect was arrested on Monday by the judicial police in Balagne (Haute-Corse) before being taken into custody and charged with receiving stolen goods as part of an organized gang and participating in a criminal association with a view to preparing a crime.
The young man is suspected of having transported the stolen car from Marseille, which was used in the crime, to Corsica.
"He is being charged with peripheral matters in the case," assert his lawyers, Anna-Livia Guerrini and Antoine Giudici. "He is accused of preparatory acts for which it has not been proven that he was aware of the criminal plan," they add.
The victim, Chloé Aldrovandi, an 18-year-old student, was shot dead on the evening of Saturday, February 15 in Ponte Leccia (Haute-Corse).
Fifteen rifle and pistol impactsIn this case, investigators are focusing on the theory that the shooters mistakenly targeted the victim's boyfriend. That day, the young woman was using her car and was hit by 15 shotgun and 9mm pistol rounds in an ambush as she left a residence.
The two murder weapons were found charred in a burned-out car about 20 kilometers away. The Marseille Interregional Specialized Jurisdiction (JIRS), which handles cases related to organized crime, is in charge of the case.
Investigators had launched an appeal for witnesses to come forward, seeking anyone with information about the Peugeot 2008 found burned out after the incident on the Tralonca road, "or who might be able to provide information relevant to the investigation."
