Cangi, building contractors from Chaumont

Cangi was founded over half a century ago, 55 years to be exact. Specializing in masonry and facade renovation, the company has been involved in numerous key construction projects in the urban development of the Haute-Marne region, while never neglecting its private clients.
The Cangi company is a fixture in the Haute-Marne landscape. It is entrusted with construction projects that shape the region. When the building sector was booming ten years ago, "number 75 near the shooting range, the 74 apartments on Rue de Dijon, number 55 on Rue Robespierre"—that was Cangi. The masonry company, which worked primarily for general contractors and architects, employed up to 36 people at that time.
“Today, we have fewer and fewer new buildings,” explains Laurent Cangi, who has passed the reins of the organization to his grandson Simon. Chaumont has essentially reached a saturation point.
These builders based in Verbiesles are now being called upon for renovation projects. For public landlords, like the Rolampont presbytery project which has just been completed or the one in Champigny-les-Langres, which is currently underway.
“We also do odd jobs,” Laurent Cangi points out. This involves building small retaining walls around private homes and handling their landscaping, such as laying paving stones. “I’ve never abandoned the individual client.” This type of client represents 40% of the company’s business.
Construction, therefore, and facade renovation – an activity which has its own dedicated team – are the composite core of Cangi's business.
Deeply attached to the Haute-Marne region and a champion of its construction industry, Laurent spearheaded a group of local contractors to bid on the BSMat school complex project in Langres. "There were four of us, each with our own building," he explains. Working together, as long as the people of Haute-Marne can work in their own region, is something this professional is committed to.
Cangi is currently working at the Edgard Pisani high school. His teams will soon begin the restoration of the Forges de Courcelles gate.

In a single day, the company carries out around ten small projects, with "light" teams of two employees. Laurent goes from one to the other, making sure that "everything runs smoothly".
Cangi currently employs 25 people and constantly uses two to three temporary workers.
