Isère: The speleologist trapped in a cave since Sunday has been extracted from the cavity.

The operation lasted all night. The young speleologist, trapped under a scree in a cave in Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse (Isère) since Sunday midday , was finally evacuated from the cavity by emergency services on Monday around 7:30 a.m., reports Le Dauphiné Libéré .

Seriously injured in the arm in this accident caused by falling rocks, the 25-year-old man was airlifted to hospital, our colleagues report.
Two companions with himTwo other experienced speleologists remained with the victim, an hour and a half from the entrance to the cave, and it was a fourth person located at the entrance who alerted the emergency services.
Around 7:30 p.m., two doctors and a nurse managed to reach the victim and carried out the first medical procedures.
In total, 79 personnel were involved, including 50 firefighters from the Isère Sdis, 10 of whom specialise in rescue in hazardous environments and mountains, seven members of the CRS Alpes, five members of the gendarmerie (PGHM, territorial brigade and speleologists), 15 members of the Isère speleology rescue association and two doctors, supported by a helicopter.
