( CESAR JIMENEZ. )
This Sunday, President Luis Abinader led the inauguration of the new government office complex in San Francisco de Macorís, which brings together 13 state institutions in a modern, functional, and accessible structure.
During his speech, the president emphasized that this project is part of a national plan for institutional reorganization that was born from listening to the true needs of the communities .
"In the first year of our administration, we dedicated ourselves to traveling the country, meeting with neighborhood associations and development associations, and thus defining the real priorities of each municipality and province . Today we are building and giving meaning to the capital of the northeast of the Dominican Republic," he said.
The president reported that this complex was not made larger because part of the remaining offices will be housed in the current San Vicente de Paúl Hospital, once the new regional hospital being built in the area is operational.
The building inaugurated today brings together institutions such as the Ministry of Public Works , the Ministry of Housing and Buildings, the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Education , the General Directorate of Passports, Digesett, Intrant, the Ministry of Youth, the Directorate of Economic Analysis, the 911 System , Inespre, Inaipi and the Presidential Commission for Provincial Development.
The project was coordinated by the Presidential Commission for Provincial Development Support , chaired by Ángel de la Cruz, who described the event as "a celebration of development for the Duarte province ."
He highlighted the many projects promoted by the president in communities such as Las Guáranas, Hostos, Arenoso, Villa Riva, Pimentel, and the Vista del Valle sector, including police stations , bridges, housing, and sports centers.
During the event, Mrs. Ana Xiomara Cortés also spoke, offering welcoming remarks on behalf of the community , and Senator Franklin Romero, who highlighted President Abinader's constant support for local development :
"From the moment we presented the works that make up the 3R project, the president gave his approval , clearly demonstrating that he is a visionary and wants the best for our people," Romero said.
"When we presented the idea to him, the president asked me, 'Where are the plans?' I replied, 'There are no plans, President, let me have a sheet of paper.' I drew a hand-drawn version of my vision for the project. And he said, 'You already have my hand. Bring me the plans in two weeks .' And so it was," the senator recounted.
President Abinader concluded his speech by reiterating his commitment to transparency, efficient planning , and the balanced development of the country:
"The provinces of Duarte and San Francisco de Macorís are moving forward, will continue to move forward, and will continue to change. May God bless you all."
