Nahle and Sheinbaum announce Wellness Hubs for Veracruz

President Claudia Sheinbaum and Governor Rocío Nahle will work together to develop Wellness Hubs in Veracruz, starting with Tuxpan. Learn the details of this federal strategy in the state.

In a clear sign of collaboration, President Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed that she is working hand in hand with the governor of Veracruz, Rocío Nahle, to establish Development Hubs for Well-being. The first of these will be located in Tuxpan.

The relationship between the federal government and the new Veracruz state administration is emerging as a strategic alliance to promote economic and social development in the state. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced that she is working in close coordination with Veracruz Governor Rocío Nahle to implement the Development Hubs for Well-being, a key project of her administration.

Tuxpan, the First Wellness Center Confirmed

During her morning press conference, President Sheinbaum was explicit about the plans for Veracruz. "In Veracruz, for now, there's one in Tuxpan, and there's another we're working on with the governor," the governor stated, confirming that the port of Tuxpan will host the state's first development hub.

These hubs are part of a national strategy that seeks to create investment and development hubs in strategic regions of the country, leveraging infrastructure projects such as the Isthmus of Tehuantepec Interoceanic Corridor (CIIT). The goal is to attract companies, generate well-paying jobs, and create value chains that directly benefit local communities.

Rocío Nahle's Vision for Veracruz

Governor Rocío Nahle has repeatedly expressed her intention to align state policies with those of the federal government to maximize benefits for Veracruz. Among her proposals, she highlights the merger of the Tourism and Culture Ministries, arguing that they "go hand in hand" to enhance the state's offerings.

Furthermore, on health issues, Nahle has indicated that her government will directly purchase medications that IMSS-Bienestar cannot supply, seeking to guarantee supplies for Veracruz residents, a highly sensitive issue.

"We're going to work as far as our teachers say," said Enrique Cruz Canseco, a union leader, reflecting the collaborative environment the new government is seeking to establish with different sectors.

Coordination in Strategic Projects

The rapport between Sheinbaum and Nahle is essential to the success of large-scale projects impacting Veracruz. The Interoceanic Corridor is one of the most important, with plans to rehabilitate more than 100 kilometers of railways in the state to connect the ports of Coatzacoalcos and Salina Cruz, Oaxaca.

This federal-state collaboration will be key to attracting the necessary investments to the Wellness Hubs and ensuring that the benefits of these megaprojects translate into a tangible improvement in the quality of life of Veracruz residents. The designation of Tuxpan as the first hub is just the beginning of a strategy that seeks to transform the economic landscape of the Gulf of Mexico.
