Audio: Two of Diego Spagnuolo's lawyers resign amid new raids

The situation of the former head of the National Disability Agency (ANDIS), Diego Spagnuolo , became more complicated again this Friday, after two lawyers on his legal team resigned amid the investigation into alleged bribes received through his agency. At the same time, the Federal Police conducted new raids to gather more information.
In total, three simultaneous operations were carried out on Friday the 12th in search of possible evidence revealing the existence of a corruption network within the agency. The first operation took place at the gated community in Pilar where Spagnuolo lives; then, the police also raided another gated community in Berazategui , and finally, a Banco Francés branch in Almagro where Spagnuolo has a safe deposit box.
Security forces entered these addresses to seize money, electronic devices, documents, and other information relevant to the investigation. Although no documents were found in the safe deposit box searched, money was seized. In total, the police seized $80,000 and €2,000, which will be investigated to verify their declaration.
Federal Judge Sebastián Casanello authorized the search warrants requested by prosecutor Franco Picardi in the Altos de Campo Grande country estate, where Spagnuolo lives, and El Pato County Club , in the southern part of Greater Buenos Aires. Upon entering the neighborhoods, the police reportedly requested security personnel to search the individuals who had entered, as well as their personal and vehicle information, as part of a "visit" to the home of Spagnuolo and Daniel Garbellini since January 1, 2024.
While this was happening, Spagnuolo's legal team suffered two resignations: attorneys Juan Aráoz de Lamadrid and Ignacio Rada Schultze , who resigned citing " personal reasons ." Likewise, the statement of Fernando Cerimedo, former advisor to La Libertad Avanza, complicated the former official's legal situation. Cerimedo indicated that Spagnuolo told him about a corruption scheme within ANDIS.
