Looking for ways to save at the grocery store? These were the foods that went up and down in price during June.

Wholesale food prices in the country showed mixed performance during June 2025, according to data reported by the Rural Agricultural Planning Unit (UPRA).
While the downward trend continued for fresh fruit, pork, root vegetables, and processed foods, increases were observed for vegetables, grains, meats, eggs, and dairy products.
Prices for produce such as carrots, beets, spring and spring onions, broccoli, and green beans in pods increased by more than 10 percent, driven by lower supplies from key regions such as Cundinamarca, Antioquia, Boyacá, and Nariño.

In contrast, products such as cucumber, sweet corn, tomatoes (both chonto and kidney), and green peas in pods registered decreases, in some cases also exceeding 10 percent.
In the fresh fruit group, the price drops were notable for mandarins, lemons, guavas, oranges, pineapples, avocados, apples, soursop, and bananas.
However, some tropical fruits such as tree tomatoes, passion fruit, mango, and granadilla showed considerable increases, as did grapes, melon, and pitahaya.

"These price fluctuations respond to both weather conditions and natural production cycles, which requires us to continue strengthening agricultural planning with data. At UPRA, we continue to advance tools to anticipate these variations and better guide production and marketing in the regions," said Dora Inés Rey, director of UPRA.
Among tubers, declines were recorded for Creole and black potato varieties, as well as for arracacha. However, products such as plantains, yams, and cassava reported moderate increases, in line with their seasonal trends.
In meats, prices for various cuts of beef, fish, and chicken increased slightly, while pork showed a general, albeit moderate, decrease.

Egg prices were on the rise across all categories , and the same was true for artisanal cheeses.
In grains and cereals, declines were observed in products such as yellow corn and imported lentils, while prices for beans such as red and radical beans increased.
Among processed foods, increases were recorded for sugar, coffee, chocolate, and refined oils; while decreases were observed for flour, pasta, and blended vegetable oils.
