Rosalía conquers 'Euphoria': the series creator applauds her performance

There were serious doubts that Euphoria could continue beyond its second season, no matter how successful the show had been on HBO .

The reason (aside from the tarnishing of Sam Levinson 's public image as a creator after the disaster of The Idol) was that many of the cast members had become stars and suddenly had impossible schedules. Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer, and Jacob Elordi are all promising stars in the film world, so their plans had to be adjusted so that the third season of Euphoria could take off. It finally happened.

In fact, the third season, conceived to be the last and making a big time jump in its narrative (so that the protagonists leave high school), is currently in production and we can expect it to arrive on HBO in 2026. Apart from the audience it already has, it is worth highlighting in these new episodes the incorporation of guest stars such as Sharon Stone or, above all, Rosalía .

The famous Spanish singer, who after having a small role in Pain and Glory Pedro Almodóvar 's will have a character to be determined in the third season of Euphoria .

In a recent report by Elle , both Levinson and Rosalía were able to detail their collaboration on the HBO series. The Euphoria showrunner confesses to being fascinated by the talent of the composer of El mal querer and Motomami . He's allowed her to alternate between English and Spanish in her performance, and generally improvise however she wants with the material.

"I let her play with words and emotions… I never wanted to tell her what to do first, because her natural instincts are so fascinating, charismatic, and fun that I was behind the camera smiling in every scene," Levinson explains.

Rosalía has thus enjoyed complete freedom to work on Euphoria , something she obviously appreciates. “I like to put myself at the service of emotion, at the service of an idea, at the service of something much bigger,” she states. It was also very special for her to reunite on the series with Hunter Schafer, an actress with whom she was once romantically linked. “I have good friends there, and it's very nice to be able to reconnect with them,” she concludes.
